Our Story

In late 2021, we (Nathan and Grace Frey) brought together our respective backgrounds in coffee to found Leatherback Roasters, a specialty coffee roastery focused on sourcing exceptional coffees and roasting them really, really well. Leatherback is named for the sea turtle that travels the furthest, much like the journey that coffee takes from seed to cup. We also just really like turtles and have two of our own!

Since opening our new Longwood roastery in 2023, we continue to pursue excellence in coffee while learning and growing in community. Today, we partner with a growing list of local businesses and coffee shops across the state and country! See what we're all about through wholesale partnerships and upcoming community events.
